Along Wandered Sam Witch! So, one night Dahn was watching TV and one of his favorite actresses was on the show he was watching. Someone told a joke and she laughed, she had a really nice laugh. In fact, it was the most amazing laugh he had ever heard in his entire life! He finished off his chocolate cake and called it a day. That night, He had the most incredible dream! The tale of 'How To Trick Or Treat In The Enchanted Forest And Not Get Eaten By A Monster!' came to him. Well, actually it would sort of come like a mini-series of dreams (but he didn't know that yet). It was very interesting because he dreamed every bit of it in cartoons! The first night he wrote it off to a great dream brought on by extremely scrumptious chocolate cake.
However, the next night the dream picked up exactly where the previous nights dream had left off. Bizarre as he was out of chocolate cake that night! The dreams continued on for days. After a while he began to write them all down. It was so very real he cannot express how much so! One night in fact, Sam Witch showed up with her “script” and demanded better lines, “significantly” better pay and a bigger dressing room! As Dahn realized even in the dream that she was completely imaginary, he happily obliged.
Dahn really believes that laugh he heard really moved him to write and create again! Oh, and he's sure that chocolate cake just before bed didn't hurt either! * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * THE STORY BEHIND GERALD It was a snowy day the schools were out and so was Dahn's Internet! He had to pick up a new modem on his way to work. One of the wonderful children he mentored asked if he could drop her off at where her mom worked on my way in. He said sure but told her they needed to stop and get him a new modem first! They drove across town and like most teenage girls do, she talked...A LOT! The snow reminder her of Christmas and she was telling Dahn about her favorite Christmas movie. Because of being distracted by her story telling and the heavy snow falling, he took a wrong turn. He looked out the window to see a 10 foot tall sculpture of a Buffalo covered in ice and snow. In the twinkling of an eye the entire story of Gerald unfolded in his mind. That is how Gerald came to be. Dahn says he was found by Gerald and his friends while he was lost in a snow storm!
